Windy Meadows has
horses available for short and long-term leases. A lease means a
commitment to lease a horse on a month-to-month basis, for a set number
of days per week to ride with or without an instructor. The purpose of
the lease is to ride more often with one horse in order to practice
skills learned in lessons.
Windy Meadows prides itself in matching the correct horse with the
correct rider to insure safety and progress.
Leasing terms are done on a case-by-case basis. To inquire about a

STABLE RULES
For the safety of our horses and riders, we ask kindly that you adhere
to the following rules while at Windy Meadows.
- No smoking or pets.
- Hard hat and hard-soled shoes with a heel must
be worn when mounted.
- Young children must be supervised.
- No running or sudden movements.
- No shouting or loud noises.
- Gates must remain closed.
- Stall doors must remain closed when horses are
inside.
- Report any unsafe condition immediately.
- Respect others: clean up after yourself and
your horse.
- Only feed horses apples, carrots, and treats
from the barn. Feed with palm up and fingers flat
and tight.
- If you are unsure of what you are doing, ask
for help.
- Never enter a stall without permission.
- Make sure the horse is aware of your presence
before approaching.
- NEVER STAND BEHIND OR GO UNDER A HORSE.
- Do not allow friends or siblings to handle
horses.
- Do not mount until an instructor has checked
the girth.
- Always have a halter or bridle on your
horse. Hold or tie the horse in cross
ties. Horses may not be loose.
- Do not mount or ride a horse in the barn.
